COOKING WEEK 2019

Brand new for 2019, we shall be running a culinary week once a month. The week will consist of 5 cooking lessons (one per day) each with a different theme as well as visits to local farms for tastings and guided tours. Included will be a guided tour of the famous UNESCO town of Pienza and an opportunity to visit of Montepulciano, the largest of the hilltop towns in Southern Tuscany.
All participants will also enjoy dinner with a paired tasting of the best Tuscan wines in the company of an experienced sommelier.
Each cooking lesson will consist of the preparation of 3-4 courses concluding with a meal giving you the opportunity to eat the food that you have prepared.


Programme

Sunday: TUSCANY theme - afternoon class
Lesson based on traditional Tuscan dishes. 4 courses from appetizer to dessert

Monday: theme, THE TARTUFO (TRUFFLE) - morning class
Truffle hunting in the woods around Montisi with the truffle hunter Nico and his dogs. Return to the kitchen for a lesson based on truffles. 3-courses

Tuesday: theme, VEGETABLES and FISH - morning A visit to the farmers market of Sinalunga where we will buy everything necessary to prepare 4 courses of fish and vegetables. There will be a risotto and certainly plenty of fish. The rest of the meal will come from our inspiration as we wander around the market stalls.

Wednesday: theme, THE TUSCAN PECORINO - morning and afternoon
Visit to a dairy with a tasting of 5 different sheep's milk cheeses and ricotta.
2 hours of free time in Montepulciano and then a return to Montisi where we will prepare a menu based on pecorino cheese.

Thursday: theme, Chianina meat
Visit to the stables and butcher's shop of Trequanda.
Cooking lesson all about beef which we shall use to prepare a first and second course

Friday: theme: OIL, WINE AND PIENZA
Guided tour of Pienza, an olive oil tasting in a local frantoio (olive oil mill) and dinner with tasting of the best Tuscan wines explained by our sommelier

Cost per person 1450€

The cost includes all cooking lessons, shopping, wine and all scheduled visits and travel to and from Montisi.
All lessons are totally hands-on and will last about 3 hours, followed by lunch or dinner where we will eat the dishes prepared together.
Only half of each day will be occupied by the cooking class. The other half will be free (except for the themed day TUSCAN PECORINO).
In this regard, we are available to arrange personalised tours of our area rich in culture and food and wine experiences.
Accommodation is not included but we can assist you with this if you require.

Each week will be confirmed only if there is a minimum of 6 participants signed in. For groups of minimum 6 people we are open to schedule different dates.
